Writing a tie-breaker question is actually harder than you think!

A good tie-breaker shouldn't be something that is just general knowledge, and ideally not an obvious number. How high something is, what year a shop opened their doors, or how many episodes of a TV show are all good examples of a tie-breaker.

We include two tie-breaker questions in our weekly quiz pack. These two brand-new questions are from this week’s quiz:

When Greg Davies took on the role of Head of Sixth Form Mr. Gilbert in the Inbetweeners, he was 40. How old is Simon Bird, who will reprise his role as sixth former Will McKenzie, currently?

- 42

In what year was the first episode of Gardeners' World broadcast?

- 1968

We update our tie-breakers here every week.
